A commission to refurbish the Ailsa Room lounge was won in competition against three other firms. G1 Architects drew on their past experience of clubhouse typology to analyse the client brief and prepared a design proposal that far exceeded the clients’ original expectations for the room. Architectural and material solutions were utilised to transform the original space and create a number of 'separate' areas affording the room the ability to combine the gentlemen's club ambience that had previously been lacking with intimacy, quality and flexibility.
